I have been collecting candle ends for quite some time now. Candles are not cheap, and a while ago it hit me, that it seemed a waste just to throw all the ends out, when I could melt them down into new candles.
I bought wick at Panduro Hobby and found a description on Pinterest on how to go about it.

I made my wicks ready with washers, since the wick was too thick to get through buttons. Found some old glass jars.

And got melting. I used our woodstove for heat, so no extra energy has been wasted on this project, since the woodstove is lit as means of heating the house any way. This is what I ended up with for my first attempt. I am more than pleased and will keep making my own candle from leftover ends.
